Paintball Trigger
This is where the human contact comes in. You must fire the gun (How to Marker!) and you do that through the Paintball Trigger. What happens when you pull the Paintball Trigger is very important - as it determines how well one can perform on the field. Older guns have a mechanical trigger but all new guns use an electric Paintball Trigger. In Speedball NPPL rules a player must pull his Paintball Trigger to shoot a paintball. Usually Paintball Triggers have a place for two fingers and the player rocks the trigger back and forth with each finger, allowing him to fire at a great rate.
If the throw is sufficient - then the number of paintballs a player is shooting can become very significant. How to Marker Tutorials explains the basic nature of the trigger but they do not make recommendations. The Paintball trigger pull is usually designed to be very short. What this means is... as soon as your finger presses against the trigger it should fire - the greater the "pull" the farther back you have to press the Paintball Trigger before it fires.
A Non-electric Paintball Trigger, through design, can achieve something similiar to electronic rates but electronic is the preferred method.

Both systems often communicate with the gun itself - through a board that senses when a ball has passed through. This keeps from tyring to load too fast and causing paintballs to be broken inside the gun, thus temporarily disabling the Marker. How to Marker - companies try to prevent that but it still happens. It's considered part of the game.
